When it comes to the city of Minneapolis, there is one DJ that leads the pack where slabs of funky, infectious House are concerned. Proving his mastery behind the decks since 1995, DJ Producer Larry Peace has been setting the standard by which all others have to follow. With his original loves of old-school funk, R&B and disco still coursing through his veins, the journey to DJ maestro started when the sound of Chicago House first filtered through to the Twin Cities.
A DJ can usually point to those seminal moments in their career that put them on a journey which cannot be denied. For Peace it was working as Prince’s personal DJ that brought him to the attention of an adoring public. Playing for the Purple One was the spark. The rest is due to the dedication and hard work it takes to get to the top. Taking risks and following his dreams, his dynamic, fluid and inspiring sets have entertained audiences far and wide for over 25 years.
With his residency at his own night Haus of Peace at The Saloon firmly establishing his DJ credentials, it was in 2017 that the itch to produce his own music became an all-consuming passion. As head of his own label Supa Qween and appearing on iconic labels such as Whitebeard Records, Nu Monkey, Plastik People Digital, and More Than House!, he has regularly raided the charts and is in hot demand as a remixer. Working with Lee Dagger (Bimbo Jones), Luca Debonaire, Dark Intensity, Harry Kasey (KC & the Sunshine Band) and Katherine Ellis, he always brings that freshness to his releases that many artists search for but never find.
2022 has really scene him fire up his schedule with an astounding array of tracks that display his versatility as a producer. From straight up House to Jackin’, from Nu-Disco to Deep, you are guaranteed to hit the dancefloor every time one of his tracks drops. Appearing in Top Ten DJ charts curated by legends such as Cevin Fisher, fans can truly appreciate just how influential an artist he is.
As the world once again embraces dance music and the experience it brings, Larry Peace continues to showcase his brand to a global audience as he takes his Haus of Peace events on the road. With the original roots of love, unity and acceptance sitting at the core of everything he does, he is the Peace before the funky storm, and his music will wrap you in his arms forever.
Larry Peace podcast, the Haus of Peace airs Saturdays 9 a.m. CST on IBIZA UNDERGROUND RADIO. Catch the replay of those mixes, special sets and more on your favorite streaming service.
